The moment I knew I was meant to be a coach

Throwback storytime. đź“–

Two of my very first clients, (they were actually practice clients I took on as part of my coaching certification program, which seems sooo long ago!), one of them lost 5 pounds in 3 weeks and the other lost a pant size in 5 weeks. Woohoo! They lost weight which was so awesome seeing as that was their main goal going into this.

But here’s the thing. I didn’t know they had released weight until 7 WEEKS (out of 12) into our coaching together!!

It was around week 7, when I realized neither of them had mentioned any physical progress during our sessions together. To be honest, I started doubting my coaching abilities. So I asked them, “ya know, we haven’t really talked about any physical shifts, I was wondering if you’ve seen any transformation?” And that’s when they told me these incredible results. So of course I freaked out in excitement and was jumping up and down celebrating them. But then I was kind of thrown off by it and not in a good way.

When I asked, “Why didn’t you tell me before?”, both of them said something along the lines of “I don’t know, I just didn’t think about it, it didn’t come up in our sessions.” And THAT, right then and there was one of the coolest moments I’ve ever experienced as a coach - because both of their goals going into this whole thing was to lose weight. I mean, we talked about other areas of their health & life too, but the main focus was losing weight.

And the fact that they got that goal, early on, and didn’t even mention that… I mean, that’s HUGE. Because that’s not what it was about anymore. The weight part just came as a side effect along their journey. And that’s when I knew.

That’s when I knew I was completely, fully, utterly aligned with this path. I had no idea what my future was going to look like, no guarantee of success. But I knew there was no freaking way I was going to let anything get in the way of spreading this magical, effortless side effect to other women who, just like me, had spent years struggling with their weight and confidence, continually experiencing defeat over “promised results.”

And the coolest part? Over the past 3 1/2 years since those 2 initial practice clients, I continue to experience this same pattern over and over again.

And that right there, well that’s magical to me.

So if you’re reading this, I have one message for you. We all have this one life, so why not try to live the best life that you could? Who is telling you that you can’t do that? Who is telling you that you shouldn’t invest in your personal growth? Society? Your family? Friends?

What it all comes down to is this idea that we have in our head that’s blocking us from following our desires, from trusting the unknown, the not yet seen, and ultimately, blocking us from going for it.

That thing that sounds too good to be true? Manifest that shit and get ready to receive. YOU create your truth. Nothing is too good to be true if you start believing that believe you’re worthy of it becoming your reality. 💫🤸🏼‍♂️
